Leadership Announcement
Charles J. Sellers & Co., Inc., is pleased to announce upcoming changes to its leadership team. Kathleen (“Kate”) Sellers will become the President of Sellers Insurance effective Jan. 1, 2026, becoming the fourth generation of the Sellers family and the first woman to lead the Agency. Charles (“Charlie”) J. Sellers III, the Agency’s current president, will become the Chair of the Agency’s Board.
Kate has worked in the Agency since 2009, serving as Vice President for the last nine years. Prior to working at Sellers Insurance, she practiced law, and she holds the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter and Registered Health Underwriter. “I’m thrilled to lead our strong team forward into the future,” Kate said. “This is more than a business to me – it’s my family’s legacy, so we will continue to dedicate ourselves to serving our customers and helping them protect themselves, their families, and their businesses.”
Amy Burnett and Ann Sellers, both Vice Presidents as well as fourth-generation family members, will continue to work with Kate to lead the Agency. Thomas (“Tom”) Sellers, a third-generation family member who has dedicated his career to Sellers Insurance, will continue to serve as Vice President and Treasurer of the Agency.
Charlie has served as the Agency’s President since 1991. As Chair, Charlie will focus on business strategy and community relations. Charlie said, “I’m proud to see my daughter Kate take on this role. With her cousins and the rest of our team working with her, she is ready to lead our Agency and continue the legacy of her grandparents and great-grandparents.”
Sellers Insurance, established in 1920, specializes in insurance for professionals, their families, and their businesses. The Agency has long-established relationships with Medical Societies and Bar Associations in New York State and offers programs tailored to the personal and business insurance needs of physicians and attorneys. Sellers Insurance also has a long history of serving the employees of the County of Erie and City of Buffalo, and proudly serves other members of our community as well.
